Fade in, the light of liberation.
Fade out, will we be relieved?
If we only clean up
Blood at the station,
We'll never bring peace to
The dead or bereaved.

Another changing regime,
Trying to aim at the dream,
I won’t be reassured
After all we’ve endured.
Out on the street, what's the word?
It's so hard to meet.
The deep changes we all need
May become more obscured.

And I have been dancing here all by myself.
Adversity made me stronger,
But I don’t want to be alone much longer!
Hands were meant to reach one another!
There’s so much to do, my sister and brother!

Fade in, open up the cages!
Teach every child about the power of love!
Face fear, counter the outrages!
Meet all the hatred
With the flight of a dove!

Stand firm toward the oppressor!
Educating is a part of the plan!
To see myself in every transgressor
And the illness in my body
In the state of the land!

This is the way forward!
This is the circle we need!
This is the Path of the Heart!

Fade right, where all the guns are pointed.
Fade left with the fists and batons.
Lock step to the corporately-anointed,
Or make a circle
And don’t be a pawn.

You know it’s hard to behold,
When love's grown cold,
But we become what we revile,
If we don’t think about it for a while.
Some have the truth,
Some only lies they try to resell.
Keep in mind your own mind,
Where it moves,
Where it dwells.
